Project Marine Watch – The Adventures of the Balaena Crew – R 150

Marine Watch is a project of Community Conservation, and Ranger Wellness and Skills Development that also aims to raise funds for the SANParks – Table Mountain National Park (TMNP) Marine Unit through the selling of merchandise such as children’s books and calendars.

Tasked with protecting 1 680 km2 of coastal and marine environments on the Cape Peninsula and around Robben Island, these incredible Rangers are the true superheroes of conservation. This first book, The Adventures of the Balaena Crew, introduces these conservation superheroes.

Written by our founder, SANParks Honorary Ranger (SHR) and Marine Biologist, Sally Sivewright, and beautifully illustrated by our Director Janet Sivewright, 10 % of every book sold will go to the SANParks Honorary Rangers to support and better equip the TMNP Marine Unit

Canvas Prints

Sally Sivewright (Founder of Guardians of the Deep) is a Marine Biologist and SANParks Honorary Ranger. As a result, she is often in the field and uses the opportunity to practice her other passion…nature photography. Her photography style focuses on the fragility of nature and the sentient essence of its inhabitants. She hopes to allow others to view nature as she sees it; something to protect and nurture with every fibre of one’s being. Her photographs range from the pancake ice in the Antarctic to a typical South African backyard. To view her latest photos (orders can be placed), please head over to her Instagram Page.
